Covering events where the President of the Philippines is the keynote speaker...

It's always exciting whenever we cover events attended by celebrities. But when an event is attended by high-profile personalities - specially the President of the Philippines – it's challenging because we have to deal with security protocol.

Our team has covered a few events attended by former presidents Erap, GMA, and our current president Pnoy along with Senators and government officials. Yeah, nickname basis! But inside the technical booth, we are careful to address them as Mr. President, Mr. Senator, etc. even though we are just whispering their names using our headset com. I just don't know how the head of the PSG would react if we call them by their nicknames. It's not part of the protocol but it's just the professional thing to do, I think.

EAS Congress Opening Video

EAS Congress Opening Video

That voice sounds familiar…

Yes, that’s usually the comment we hear whenever we use the voice of Prof. Pinky Aseron for our AVPs.

Since the name doesn’t ring a bell to people outside the broadcast industry, I simply recite “Mabuhay! Welcome to Philippine Airlines.” And to those who haven’t taken a PAL flight, I usually make the announcement “Arriving at North Avenue Station. Paparating na ng North Avenue Station”.

Sounds familiar?

When pressed for a deadline by the client, I jokingly say “The subscriber can not be reached. Please try again later.” and immediately disclaim it by saying that that is another popular line voiced by Ms. Pinky.

Aside from the familiarity of the golden voice, we use her voice for our videos shown at international conferences or symposia. And so, she is the voice behind our latest opening video for PEMSEA’s EAS (East Asian Seas) Congress held in Danang City, Vietnam last November 16, 2015.

You can listen to the captivating voice of Ms. Aseron and the original musical score of Erica Cawagas. The video’s motion gfx and art designed and animated by Pepper Hernandez, Rembrandt Floresca, and Jordan Arabejo. Click link to view video.

Our team was tapped by 'plusheventsupplies' for their multi-camera video coverage and multiple LED wall management of PISAY's Homecoming 2015.

The video set-up required two LED Walls, one placed at the center of the stage, while the other LED wall was split into two and positioned to sandwhich the main LED wall.

Client's requirement was for us to be able to feed Multi-media presentations (AVPs, short video clips, Powerpoint Presentations) on the main LED wall AND/OR on the two split LED walls.  Another requirement was to connect a 4th LED wall at the swimming pool area, located outside the main stage.  The 4th LED wall should not just be a mirror of what's happening at the main stage since the two areas have different viewing requirements - which means more Wide Shots for the swimming pool audience.

To do this, we used the Auxillary Output feature of the Blackmagic Switcher and a Matrox Triple Head.  We recommend this set-up whenever a client requires management of three LED walls - as an alternative to the more expensive Dataton Watchout system.
